Kind Words

The 14-day guide is amazing. Danielle and her team have worked incredibly hard to provide thoughtful, practical strategies that truly make a difference.
I particularly love the reflections at the end of each chapter. They give readers not just valuable information, but also a meaningful way to apply it to their own lives.
When we go through trauma, our brains are wired to go into fight-or-flight mode. Because of that, it’s essential to have tools that help us process, heal, and move forward. This guide is definitely a powerful place to start.
Foundation of hope was such a safe and happy place for me in a time of absolute terror and despair. I came across the foundation not very long after I left a horrifically violent relationship. The comfort given to me by other members that I was openly able to share and they understood, was like finding a place in the world when I felt like there was no other. The support members and the founder gave me in this time, helped me through the most difficult time in my life. I am now a successful business owner and live in another state, but still keep contact with other victims and the founder and donate where I can because I truly believe in their impact to the community.
I read this book as a survivor, after I was already safe, and wish I had, had this book during my time of need, I can see how impactful it would be for those going through active DV and applaud the author for her bravery to help others using information gained from her own hardships and trauma.
As a Social Worker, I have worked with both victims and perpetrators of family and domestic violence and in my personal life been through the experience of recovering from FDV.
This book is a helpful tool to assist those navigating the pain and confusion that follows leaving a violent and controlling relationship.
It puts words to feelings and provides anchors to assist with the grappling pain and confusion experienced, when in the process of recovering.

It is a hope filled resource, to assist survivors stay afloat in their healing journey.
I think There Is Hope is a highly valuable resource. It’s thoughtfully designed for its target audience—survivors of FDV—and offers a meaningful, structured approach to recovery. Its strengths, such as accessibility, empowerment, and trauma-informed design, far outweigh any limitations, especially when paired with the community support offered by Foundations of Hope.
I’d highly recommend reading this book.
For those working or volunteering in community services, this resource is an excellent tool to recommend as part of a holistic recovery plan. For survivors, it provides a gentle yet structured way to practise self-reflection, build resilience, and feel connected to others on a similar journey. I’d highly recommend reading this book.
